Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears, travel vaccinations.

The nurses provide skilled nursing care for patients  in their own home. They do dressings, advise about incontinence and nursing appliances as well as all aspects of short and long term care.  They also provide support and advice for carer’s of these patients at home.

Nurses are available  Monday to Friday.

Health visitors offer help and support in prevention of disease and maintenance of good health in mothers, babies and pre-school children at the fortnightly child development clinics in the practice and also within the community.
